Dr Tim O’Neill has a special interest in Diving Medicine. He completed an Introductory Course in Diving Medicine in 2000 in Aberdeen. He attends refresher courses in Diving Medicine in The D.D.R.C. in Plymouth, most recently in April 2017.
Dr O’Neill is registered with The Health and Safety Authority in Ireland as being able to perform fitness assessments for Commercial/Professional divers. Due to a mutual recognition agreement these medicals are acceptable to divers working in The UK and further afield.
Dr O’Neill also provides opinions in relation to fitness to dive for sports divers. This is usually requested if a diver has a medical condition which may increase the risks associated with diving. Involvement of the person’s own general practitioner is vital and a referral from that doctor is requested before arranging an appointment.
Current fees for diving assessments (2017) are:
|Sports diver assessment (incl CFT Medical)||From €80.00|
|First ever Commercial Diver assessment||From €200.00|
|Subsequent Commercial Diver assessment||From €180.00|
